Dare to wear... Red eyeshadow!

Hello sweet ladies, I hope your weekend is going on pretty good.

Today I want to share with you some swatches of my favorite red eyeshadows.
I love wearing red/rust eyeshadows, I think they are gorgeous and a bit unconventional...

I like using my MAC Fix + to foil loose eyeshadows, I just wet my flat stiff brush with it and it makes the colors pop like crazy...
To enhance my pressed red eyeshadows, I like using NYX jumbo eye pencil in milk or in rust, plus I never forget to use my primer potion as a base.

From left to right: without base, with NYX jumbo eye pencil in milk underneath, with NYW jumbo eye pencil in rust as a base.

What about you girls, do you wear red eyeshadows? What are your favorite shades? Do you have any tips to make them pop even more?

The Body Shop Mango body scrub

Hello sweet ladies! Today I'd like to make a review on the Mango Body Scrub by the Body Shop.

Though I always use my moroccan black soap and my Bourjois Gommage de Rêve because they are my favorite scrubs ever, I like testing new products. So, a few months ago I purchased this yummy scrub.
What is it?
They describe it as follows: "Have soft, glowing skin with this oil-based, soft-textured scrub that is packed with exfoliating salt grains and organic sugar.
Mango seed oil moisturizes and softens skin without being greasy.
Community Trade organic cane sugar and salt grains gently exfoliate skin.
Community Trade organic soy oil, rich in essential fatty acids, helps repair skin’s moisture barrier for smooth, supple skin."
This scrub is made for very dry skins.

 How much for this?
$ 19.00 for 7.4 oz. Just the average size for body products.

What do I think about it?

- I'm crazy about its anthentic mango fragrance. It just smells awesome and lasts long after the shower.
- It is a good scrub without being agressive for my skin and leaves it soft and moisturized.
- On a weekly use basis, is takes time to hit the pan.

 - It is oil-based and leaves my skin oily and slippery after the shower, it's pretty disagreeable. This is the big downside of this product, and because of that I won't buy it again.

To put it in a nutshell :
I bought this scrub because it smells so good and because body scrubs tend to leave my skin dry. This one does moisturize but the greasy feeling on my skin after use makes that I won't recommend this product.

Collective haul...

Hello sweet ladies. The weekend is starting today and I hope you're gonna enjoy it. It's rainy and foggy here , but I cheer myself up with a hauling post.
Here are some of items that I picked this month, as you can see, my glitter obsession is still going on! But I'm more and more focusing on pastel colors... I'm just scared that they don't fit my skin color.

MAC - Naked Paris

Hello sweet ladies, I recently I had a crush on MAC lipstick in Naked Paris, and I made a swap on MakeupAlley. I got my part today, and this lipstick is just gorgeous.

It's smooth on the lips and glides easily. I love the lustre finish as it is different from the nude lipstiscks that I already have.

The Personal Microderm

Hello sweet ladies! I hope you're doing good.
Today I wanna share my experience about the Personal Microderm or PMD.

What is it?
They introduce it as "Achieve amazing anti-aging results at home with Personal Microderm System. It works just like a professional microdermabrasion treatment without the hassle or cost. The hand-held device uses the same aluminum oxide crystals as the ten thousand dollar machines found at your doctor's office. It smooths away dead skin cells, diminishing age spots and other signs of aging.  Help treats acne and scarring as well."

I purchased the personal microderm a month and a half ago because I wanted to get rid of some dark spots on my cheeks and some remaining hormonal stretch marks that I got when I was 9.

The kit comes with one personal microderm, 6 discs: 2 green discs and 4 blue discs, one electric cord, a filter, a face and a body cap + DVD for instructions.
I also purchased the Daily cell regeneration starter kit. This kit contains a cleanser (2 fl. oz.), a neutralizing toner (2 fl. oz.) and a recovery moiturizer (0.5 fl. oz.)

How much for this?
You get the Personal Microderm for $179 with the 120 volts power adapter, and $181 with the 220-230 power adapter, and a reusable filter. You can purchase your PMD here
You get the Starting Kit for $39.95.
Plus shipping cost, depending on where you live.

I didn't pay that much for it , because I had a coupon code (BENTLEYBLONDE) that gave me 25% off my order. I don't now if it's available, but just give it a try.
Otherwise, you can look for a new one here

 How does it work?
The instruction DVD helps you with the first use of the PMD. You can also find written instructions on their website: here.
On a dry, clean face free from any makeup, oil, cream and dirt, you pull your skin taught for a smooth surface. You must keep your skin tight as long as you use the PMD on the treated area.

You must use the disc that fits your skin: blue is for sensitive skin, green for medium, red (not sold with the PMD) for coarse skin). I use the blue discs for my face and the green ones for my body. You must use the smaller discs for your face and the bigger ones for your body only.

Once you're done with the treatment, you must use a neutral toner and follow with a recovery moiturizer.

What do I think about it?

- I hate beauty parlours and similar places where people are gonna touch me (including dermatologist's...) so I've never been in such places, and I won't go neither for eyebrow plucking nor for professional microderm, so this is an excellent product for me that allows you to stay home while taking care of your skin.
- The DVD is useful and gives you some tips for your first use and for taking care of your PMD
- Though it's a bit pricy, it's still less expensive than a professional microderm session, and you need several sessions to get significant results.
-  My remaining stretch marks are barely noticeable now , after four sessions.(but I must admit that they were not very deep and not purple on my skin)
- My dark spots have started to fade away, though it seems to take more time than for my stretch marks.
- I love the toner and the revovery cream that help healing my skin after the session.

- I really had a bad experience with the customer service of the PMD website. I didn't receive any confirmation email for the order or the payment. The email address mentionned is unavailable, and the toll number is unavailable too if you don't live in the USA. I was totally upset about all this, though I finally got my order 10 business days later.
- You must be very careful when using the PMD for the first time because it may cause scabbing if you hover in one spot or use too strong a pressure. I definitely advise to start with the blue disc
- You must change the discs after two sessions.

To put it in a nutshell:
Though I had some "communication issues" with the PMD website, I am extremely happy with my personal microderm tool. It's an excellent product that really helps having a better skin for an affordable price. I recommend it.

Roberto Cavalli's New Fragrance

Hello sweet ladies!!!
I've been obsessed with perfumes, fragrances and scents for as long as I can remember. Maybe because I have a keen sense of smell (I can smell any scent even the less noticeable)
I love having a house that smells good. I love experimenting new fragrances as well and I recently had a crush on Roberto Cavalli's new fragrance for her. The ad features the model Elisa Sednaoui in a very feline attitude...

With orange flower absolute and pink peppercorn, this fragrance is everything I love: it 's a feminine, provocative scent that people will notice when you pass by and won't forget. It lasts all day long on your skin and it is not as expensive as I expected: you get for 45,00 euros in France , $65.00 in the USA.

The bottle is not groundbreaking at all, but pretty though.

What about you sweeties? Did you give a try to this fragrance? Did you like it?

Review: The Brush Guard's Cleaning Kit

Hello sweet ladies! Hope you're doing fine before the forthcoming Easter weekend.
I recently bought and tested the Brush Guard's Cleaning Kit for makeup brushes and wanted to share my opinion about it.
What is it?
They introduce it as " the world's first complete care for your brushes. Get the ickies out! Out of your brush and away from your face."
Here are the "ickies":

I really love this idea of making little monsters to show you how dirty brushes can ruin both your skin and makeup...

This kit comes with a brush shampoo, a washing cup, a blotting cloth, a drying vase and a brush guard variety package. There are also some instructions for use.

How much for this?
It's $19.95 + shipping -cost will vary according to your location, they ship worldwide- on the Brush Guard website. I think the price is ok fot what you get. You can buy the brush shampoo alone for $8 and the variety pack is $5.50.

How does it work?
You squeeze a few (little) drops of shampoo into the washing cup, then you  you gently rub your wet brush in the bottom of the cup. This washing cup has a sudsing textured bottom that allows you to deep clean your brushes and remove all the dirt. I think is also helps the shampoo lathering.

When you're done, you rinse thoroughly and blot with the blotting cloth. Then you can put the brush guard to shape the bristles and dry your brush in the drying vase, bristles down.
What do I think about it?
- It's affordable and you get a good kit for a good price
- I do like the washing cup which is pretty effective for cleaning the brushes and remove all the old makeup. I clean my brushes faster now.
- The shampoo has a good cleaning power and you don't need to use tons of product for it to be effective. It's got a neutral, barely noticeable scent.
- The blotting cloth is not different from an average towel so it's not essential.
- I honestly don't see the point in the drying vase. My brushes don't get dry faster than when I put them on a clean cloth on a flat surface.

To put it in a nutshell:
Good kit with a very useful washing cup. The shampoo works great to clean the brushes but the blotting cloth and the drying vase are not that essential.
